Bradfield Tuition - Safeguarding & Online Safety Policy
At Bradfield Tuition, your child’s safety, wellbeing, and confidence are at the heart of everything we do. We follow UK online-safeguarding best practice and create a calm, structured environment where students feel secure, respected, and able to learn.
1. A Safe, Professional Online Classroom
-
All lessons take place in secure, access-controlled Google Meet classrooms. Only registered students can join, and every participant must be admitted by the tutor. Uninvited guests cannot enter.
-
We use waiting rooms, controlled screen sharing, monitored chat functions, and official Bradfield Tuition links only.
-
Our aim is a calm, structured environment where students feel comfortable and supported.
2. Tutor Standards
All teaching is carried out by our founders:
-
Oli, who trained at the University of Cambridge (Maths & Physics)
-
Maria, an Oxford graduate (Biology & Chemistry)
We do not use junior tutors or unvetted freelancers.
Both tutors hold enhanced DBS checks and follow clear safeguarding and professional conduct guidelines. All communication takes place through Bradfield Tuition systems only.
3. Behaviour & Expectations
We encourage a culture of respect, kindness, and focus. Students are expected to behave appropriately during:
-
Live lessons
-
Group discussions
-
Chat interactions
-
Homework submissions
If behaviour compromises the learning or wellbeing of others, we may remove a student from the session and follow up with the family supportively and privately.
4. Lesson Recordings
All lessons are recorded, so students can revisit explanations or catch up if they miss a session.
Recordings are stored securely and are only accessible to Bradfield Tuition, the tutor, and the student’s family. They are never shared beyond this.
Recordings also support safeguarding and quality assurance.
5. Working in Partnership with Parents
Safeguarding works best when tutors and parents communicate openly. We ask parents to help by:
-
Ensuring their child joins lessons from an appropriate location
-
Not sharing lesson links
-
Encouraging respectful behaviour
-
Informing us promptly of any concerns
We aim to resolve all safeguarding matters with care, discretion, and professionalism.
6. Reporting a Concern
If you have a concern about a student’s safety or welfare, please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead:
-
Safeguarding Lead: Maria Bradfield
-
Email: bradfieldtuition@gmail.com
All concerns are taken seriously and handled promptly and sensitively.
7. Policy Review
This policy is reviewed annually to ensure it reflects current UK safeguarding guidance and best practice.
